The Buffalo Bills held home court against the Minnesota Vikings, escaping with a one point 16-17 victory. In a last minute 15-play 80 yard drive that was conducted by QB Kyle Orton. Orton connected with Sammy Watkins in the end zone with one second left.
Now the Bills must prepare for the New York Jets, who at 1-4 are looking for any spark for their team. Their one standout element, their defensive line, may well put Orton in jeopardy with Orton taking six sacks against the Vikings. The Jets are currently ranked seventh in the NFL in sacks with 20.

Banned Lasers show up during key moments of the game
As kicker Dan Carpenter prepared to put the Bills ahead with a 50-yard field goal, a laser pointer was inexplicably aimed at holder Colton Schmidt’s face and the kick was wide left. Now, there is no way to be sure that Carpenter would have made the kick, but his 58-yard kick to win the game says that he probably would have.
“I hit it really good. It was one of those things I really like to not leave opportunities like that short,” said Carpenter. “I hit the ball really well, a lot better than I did on the 50-yarder.”
Lasers were banned from all NFL Stadiums a number of years back and the Bills organization has filed a complaint with the NFL.
The Bills won the game off Carpenter’s 58-yard kick 17-14. They next face the New England Patriots who are also 3-2. Great seats and cheap tickets are still available, so be sure to get yours now!
The biggest factor in this seasons incarnation of the San Diego Chargers is the play of quarterback Phillip Rivers who made a star out of Antonio Gates last week and Eddie Royal this week.
“Philip just opens up everybody,” receiver Malcom Floyd said. “We’ve got all kind of weapons on the field. It’s pretty much just picking your poison.”
Just seven days post Rivers/Gates combo for 21 points, Royal finished the game against the Bills with four catches for 42 yards and two touchdowns.
“It’s key, no matter who’s in there,” Royal said. “It’s great when you’ve got a lot of guys that can make plays.” “We were tired of getting field goals,” Royal said about ending the drive with a TD. “It’s great to get points, but we wanted to score a touchdown.”
The Bills (2-1) are preparing this week for the Houston Texans (2-1) who seem to be a pretty even match up on paper. Of course, we all now that is why they play the games.
