The 22-17 win over the New York Jets last weekend has fueled hopes that the rematch against the New England Patriots will have a better outcome than their 40-32 loss in week two. The Patriots are coming off a slim 27-26 win over the New York Giants last weekend.
The Bills are looking forward to getting back on the field with the Pats on Monday Night Football and head coach Rex Ryan knows his team has what it takes to defeat the undefeated.
“I know we have improved as a football team. I know we have, we are better,” Ryan said at a press conference Tuesday.
While both Julian Edelman (11 catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns) and Rob Gronkowski (seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown) tore up the Bills in their last meeting, the Patriots will be without Edelman for this game after breaking a bone in his foot against the Giants and is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks while the Bills D looks to take Gronkowski out of the game.
“We got a game plan to take him out of the game,” cornerback Stephon Gilmore said Tuesday. “We’re gonna be ready for him.”
